March news from U3A Corangamite

At the end of January, we held a successful Annual General Meeting and the names and contact details of the members of the Committee are given later in the newsletter.

We currently have 128 members. By now you should have received your 2024 membership cards. If by any chance you have not received your new cards, or you require another lanyard, please call Secretary, David Mernagh on 0429 951 643, and this will be remedied.

At the recent Friday Forum, Emily Mercer gave an excellent presentation about the Camperdown & District Food Bank, operated via Camperdown Community House, that supports members of the community who find themselves in need of food relief. As the food bank does not receive any ongoing funding, the Committee decided to make a donation of $500.

As this is the first general newsletter for the year, towards the end, a list of the ongoing U3A Corangamite Activities for 2024, with the contact details of each individual activity coordinator. This list will not be included in future newsletters. Only a listing of Special Activities occurring in each month will be provided so it is recommended that for your own reference during the year, you retain this contact list.

Finally, if you have any ideas for articles for inclusion in the newsletter that you think may be of interest to members, please let us know.
